Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a DevOps Engineer - Level 3 to design, build and secure containerized software for cloud deployments. The role requires active SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI, and flexible travel up to 10%.

You will implement Kubernetes clusters, automate CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security across architectures while collaborating with cross‑discipline engineers to deliver mission‑critical solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; higher degrees adjust the experience needed.
• Active SCI clearance at time of application or ability to obtain SCI before start date.
• Experience building and maintaining containerized apps (Docker).
• Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift for cluster orchestration.
• Experience deploying to cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on‑prem).
• Experience creating CI/CD scripts (Jenkins, GitLab, Python).
• Linux administration and shell scripting experience.
• Active Security+ Certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure containerized software for cloud deployments.
• Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters, including networking, security, and observability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security gates.
• Perform security assessments on containerized apps and cloud deployments; drive remediation.
• Develop infrastructure as code for repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and security engineers to define secure architectures.
• Document designs, security controls, and procedures for cloud platforms.
