Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a DevOps Engineer - Level 3 to design, build, and secure containerized applications in cloud environments. You will implement Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines while ensuring compliance and security across deployments.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and IaC tools, plus strong scripting and collaboration skills in a defense context.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience with Bachelor's, or 3 with Master's, or 1 with PhD; 4 extra years may substitute.
• Active SCI clearance at application or active TS with ability to obtain SCI soon.
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications (Docker).
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Experience deploying software to AWS, Azure, GCP, or on‑prem clouds.
• Experience developing CI/CD scripts (Jenkins, Python, GitLab).
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD, Defect Dojo, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Active Security+ Certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure containerized software components for cloud deployments.
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters, including networking, security, and observability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security gates.
• Perform security assessments on containerized apps and cloud deployments and drive remediation.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code for repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and security engineers on secure architectures and patterns.
• Document designs, security controls, and procedures for cloud deployed containers.
