Job summary

the company LLC, a technology firm serving federal civilian agencies, offers a remote DevOps Engineer III role focused on platform maintenance and vulnerability response. You will lead vulnerability triage, remediation, and security tooling integration across AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

Candidates should have strong experience with cloud services, IaC, and DevSecOps practices, plus ability to operate in a federal environment and coordinate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience and ability to pass background investigation.
• Hands-on with AWS services: EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch.
• Proficient in Terraform for IAC and drift prevention.
• Experience building/optimizing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins).
• Strong containerization knowledge (Docker, AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate).
• Familiar with DevSecOps, SAST, dependency scanning, and automated remediation.
• Solid networking, virtualization, and cloud infra fundamentals.
• Experience with vulnerability management workflows and tools (AWS Inspector, Security Hub).
• Configuration-drift detection and remediation experience.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge vulnerability notifications within 24 hours and triage by SLA tier.
• Remediate vulnerabilities on a weekly release cadence with documentation.
• Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans (AWS Inspector, Security Hub, Twistlock).
• Maintain trusted base images and automate dependency updates; run container scans in CI/CD.
• Audit legacy resources and remediate configuration drift into managed code.
• Configure and maintain network boundaries (VPC, SGs, NACLs, VPN, firewall).
• Maintain development environment readiness (Terraform updates, repo builds, credential validation).
• Coordinate cross-team remediation schedules and support on-call incident response.
