AoPS is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Platform Group in hybrid San Diego. You will enhance observability, define metrics/SLOs with product teams, and operate Kubernetes in production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering
• Production Kubernetes experience
• Hands-on observability with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
• Experience defining SLOs
• Experience with AWS infrastructure
• Terraform IaC proficiency
• Production-grade code for tools/automation
• Incident response leadership
• AI-forward mindset
• Excellent cross-team communication

Responsibilities

• Make systems observable with logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Define what to measure with product teams; select metrics and SLOs.
• Run Kubernetes in production and keep platform reliable and secure.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and self‑service tooling for product teams.
• Lead incident response and post‑mortems to prevent recurrence.
• Raise standards for observability, Kubernetes, and developer tooling.
• Explore AI to improve infrastructure and share learnings with the team.
• Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews.
