Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer to support the TCPED platform for DoD and IC. The role is primarily on-site in Bethesda, MD with a flexible schedule and occasional remote tasks.

You will lead a DevOps team, manage a containerized microservices stack, and drive CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka. Strong collaboration across security, engineering, and product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field, 12+ years in software/dev or 10+ with Master’s
• DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, CISSP)
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification
• Extensive experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and ingress/gateway troubleshooting
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines integration, code quality and test reports
• Proficient in Linux OS, SELinux, and related security tooling
• Experience as a Product Owner or in Agile, backlog management, and Scrum ceremonies
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication

Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps team for design, deployment, and maintenance of a containerized microservices stack.
• Perform systems administration, installation, and configuration.
• Foster DevOps culture and cross-functional collaboration across teams.
• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline (Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
• Enhance CI/CD scripts and deployment processes for speed and resilience.
• Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure (physical and virtual).
• Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features.
• Collaborate with System Engineers on feature design and requirements.
• Provide input to system engineering docs and diagrams/models.
• Own and prioritize the Agile backlog and SAFe program increment planning.
