Job summary

Data Intellect is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our New York team. You will build and scale cloud infrastructure, manage Kubernetes environments, and automate deployment pipelines in a fast-paced consulting setting.

The role requires 5+ years in DevOps, strong AWS and Linux skills, Docker/Kubernetes expertise, and proficiency with Terraform/Ansible. You’ll collaborate with engineering to improve reliability and security while delivering cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Excellent knowledge of Linux administration.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines; GitLab CI/CD is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash and/or Python.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, routing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with web services such as NGINX, Apache and Tomcat.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex production issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve and extend AWS infrastructure supporting production applications and services.
• Implement and manage Kubernetes environments and helm charts.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automating build, testing and deployment processes.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible) to create repeatable environments.
• Improve monitoring and logging to help identify issues and optimise performance.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Bash and Python.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, database and production issues.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve deployment processes.
• Help design scalable architecture for large customer environments.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, security and cloud cost efficiency.
• Support incident management, root-cause analysis, DR and continuous improvement.
