Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong Kubernetes and AWS expertise, plus Terraform, Ansible and Python/Linux proficiency.

This role supports on-prem and edge deployments, with hybrid work 1–2 days weekly at Grapevine, TX, and occasional travel to Camp Bullis. You will lead automation efforts, ensure scalability and reliability, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams to deploy

Qualifications

• Clearance: TS/SCI with U.S. Citizenship.
• 9+ years DevOps or Software Development with related degree; or 7 years with Masters; or 13 years with HS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient with Terraform and Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience with application/container/OS deployment, scaling and management.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and deployment tools.
• Comfortable in a terminal environment; proficient Linux administration.
• Excellent problem solving and communication; Agile experience; tech lead/mentorship.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance (e.g., Security+).
• Willingness to travel to Camp Bullis (San Antonio, TX) and work in a hybrid Grapevine office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in DevOps engineering activities.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; improve availability.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor and guide team members, providing senior-level leadership.
• Perform occasional travel as required.
