Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Irving, TX is seeking a Sr DevOps Engineer to join the DevOps team, managing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and collaborating with developers to automate testing, release, and deployment. You will design scalable, secure systems, implement IaC with Terraform/Ansible, and build robust CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires deep cloud expertise, strong scripting, and hands-on experience with GCP services, CI/CD tools, and networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong programing skills in Python/Go/Java and scripting.
• Hands-on GCP experience with core services and Kubernetes.
• Experience with IaC using Terraform/Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Solid networking basics and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Manage capacity across public and private cloud resources and automate scaling.
• Improve cloud reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for containerized and non-containerized components.
• Build scalable and secure infrastructure on GCP.
• Automate deployment and management with Terraform/Ansible.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure 24/7 production availability.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to meet policies.
