Job summary

Wolters Kluwer in Saint Cloud, MN, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that support the full software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with product teams to embed DevOps practices in Agile workflows, automate testing and deployments, and mentor engineers while driving reliability, observability, and security across Azure and AWS environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Release Engineering, or related roles, with hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong programming background in Python, .NET, or Java.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS).
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting.
• Solid understanding of Azure and AWS services (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS).
• Experience with source control and automation tools like Git.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and DevOps culture adoption.
• Observability platform development and operational best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting Linux and Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and automate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in Azure and AWS using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Implement and maintain IaC and CI/CD pipelines with reusable modules and patterns.
• Design compute platforms including containerized/serverless solutions (AKS, EKS, Docker, Azure Functions).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines as software products with robust tests and deployment automation.
• Support cloud-native architectures with abstraction, decoupling, fault isolation, and observability.
• Implement observability using metrics, logging, and tracing for proactive issue detection.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise DevOps, security, and governance standards.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions; no formal people management.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies for value, performance, and integration feasibility.
• Apply SRE practices like SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and incident response.
• Deploy, operate, and support business-critical applications with high availability and performance.
• Participate in modernization and cloud-native transformation of legacy platforms.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive automation/architectural improvements.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and blameless root cause analyses.
• Participate in on-call rotations and automate remediation where possible.
