Job summary

Weekday is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to build and operate scalable, secure cloud infrastructure in New York City. You will own automation across design to production, working closely with software, security, and product teams to boost deployment velocity and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, deep AWS/Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred), and strong IaC with Terraform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, cloud infra or platform engineering.
• Strong production experience with AWS.
• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS) experience.
• Terraform / IaC expertise.
• CI/CD pipelines design and maintenance.
• Docker and containerized applications experience.
• Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or CloudWatch.
• Scripting with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery.
• Deploy and operate Docker/Kubernetes-based applications, including EKS.
• Implement GitOps and automated deployment practices for reliability.
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across production systems.
• Define reliability practices, incident response, root-cause analysis, and DR.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes with Python or Bash.
• Improve security through IAM, secrets-management, and network controls.
• Monitor costs and performance; collaborate on tooling and workflows.
• Participate in architecture discussions and create runbooks and standards.
• Mentor engineers and share DevOps best practices.
