Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CICD and Embedded Software Development Tools Group. You will focus on DevOps, configuration management, and supporting the OPTIMUS platform for embedded software production.

Work will span building automation pipelines, platform reliability, and collaboration with product, IT, SRE, and security teams to modernize the development experience. This hybrid role reports to GM's location with regular on-site presence.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/Software Eng or related field; MS preferred.
• 5+ years in software development with focus on DevOps, config mgmt and cloud.
• Experience building automation pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce repository governance and build environment standards.
• Drive platform reliability, security, and scalability across GitHub, Artifactory, Azure, cloud agents, and related tooling.
• Partner with product, IT infra, SRE, and security to deliver new capabilities and modernize the embedded software dev experience.
• Create/maintain monitors for platform and build health using dashboards and metrics to boost productivity and quality.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation pipelines for embedded software on OPTIMUS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for build/test automation in CICD pipelines.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the OPTIMUS platform for efficient delivery.
• Troubleshoot issues in virtual workspace, build/test/integration pipelines and quality gates.
• Stay current with DevOps trends and incorporate improvements to the platform.
