Job summary

Shockwave Medical in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to drive design, automation, and deployment of the CI/CD pipeline for our IVL platform. The role emphasizes infrastructure as code, container orchestration, and secure software delivery in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, implement logging, monitoring, and SBOM tooling, and lead modernization projects while staying current with DevOps trends and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS/Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–8 years as a DevOps Engineer with CI/CD experience.
• Strong CI/CD with multiple integrations across tools.
• Proficient in Python, Terraform, and Bash scripting.
• Hands-on with Podman or Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
• Experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• IoT/embedded systems exposure is a plus.
• Experience with code scanning and secure coding standards.
• Experience creating SBOMs and security testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable code and IT infra.
• Automate delivery pipelines via CI/CD and IaC (Jenkins, Ansible, Salt).
• Implement logging for high availability and performance.
• Apply code scanning and security testing (VectorCast, Coverity, Blackduck).
• Maintain tech stack; troubleshoot performance and security.
• Collaborate with dev teams to manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Design complex Jenkins pipelines with SBOMs and security checks.
• Stay updated on DevOps, cloud, and IaC trends.
• Lead initiatives to modernize platforms and migrate from legacy systems.
