Job summary

Sierra Nevada Company, LLC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and refine CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. You will mentor the DevOps team, drive IaC adoption, and ensure secure, scalable operations across development, staging, and production environments.

You will collaborate with executives to align DevOps initiatives with strategic goals, define SLOs, and guide incident response and post-mortems while representing SNC at industry forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of DevOps experience.
• Higher degree may substitute for experience.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Scripting in Python or Bash.
• Kubernetes experience and lifecycle ownership.
• GitOps deployment workflows with ArgoCD or Flux.
• Linux systems administration and hardening.
• Observability and monitoring design (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Incident response leadership and on-call management.
• Infrastructure-as-Code governance and standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of systems.
• Lead automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align DevOps with business goals.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to the DevOps team.
• Develop and enforce robust security and compliance policies.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in DevOps practices.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences and forums.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters across environments
• Define and enforce platform SLOs and incident response/runbooks
