Job summary

Code and Theory seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own infrastructure, tooling, and developer experience for its AI-native platforms. You’ll work across cloud, CI/CD, security, and observability, partnering with cross-functional teams to ship faster and build more reliably.

Our engineers are AI-native and advance software development with AI. The role emphasizes IaC, deployment strategies, serverless, and cost optimization in a fast-paced agency setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• Strong proficiency with IaC tools — Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Jenkins.
• Deep expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing high-availability, fault-tolerant architectures.
• Solid understanding of deployment strategies: blue-green, canary releases, and feature flags.
• Experience with serverless architectures — AWS Lambda, GCP Functions, or Azure Functions.
• Familiarity with edge platforms and CDNs (e.g., Fastly, CloudFront).
• Experience with developer platforms like Vercel, Netlify, WP Engine.
• DevSecOps experience and security tooling (Snyk, Vault).
• Observability platforms like New Relic, Datadog, CloudWatch.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe software delivery—from commit to production.
• Embed DevSecOps principles across the pipeline with security scanning and secrets management.
• Lead IaC practices with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible for reproducible environments.
• Own observability: monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing across systems.
• Drive cloud cost optimization and proactive right-sizing of resources.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve developer experience and reduce SDLC friction.
• Maintain architecture docs, runbooks, and post-mortems for continuous improvement.
