Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with our client, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a hybrid role onsite in Columbus, OH (2 days per week). The contract-to-hire position supports large-scale cloud environments and emphasizes automation, Terraform, CI/CD, and ControlMonkey.

You will lead projects, mentor engineers, design scalable AWS infra, implement IaC, and promote GitOps-based workflows to improve reliability, security, and efficiency across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform/Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on ControlMonkey experience – REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps methodologies.

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing infrastructure and engineering team supporting large-scale cloud environments. This role will be heavily focused on AWS, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern cloud automation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on DevOps/Infrastructure engineer who can not only build and automate solutions but also lead projects, drive technical initiatives, and help mentor and develop the broader engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Lead and drive DevOps and cloud infrastructure projects from design through implementation
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure
• Develop and manage Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
• Implement and manage ControlMonkey to improve Terraform/IaC coverage, governance, drift detection, and cloud infrastructure management
• Help eliminate manual "click-ops" through automated and GitOps-based infrastructure workflows
• Establish best practices around infrastructure automation, configuration management, and cloud governance
• Identify and remediate infrastructure/configuration drift
• Improve the reliability, scalability, security, and repeatability of cloud environments
• Lead technical projects and initiatives across the infrastructure/DevOps organization
• Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment and infrastructure processes
• Mentor and help train the existing team on DevOps, AWS, Terraform, and infrastructure automation best practices
• Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for increased automation and operational efficiency
