Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with our client, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a hybrid role onsite in Columbus, OH (2 days per week). The contract-to-hire position supports large-scale cloud environments and emphasizes automation, Terraform, CI/CD, and ControlMonkey.

You will lead projects, mentor engineers, design scalable AWS infra, implement IaC, and promote GitOps-based workflows to improve reliability, security, and efficiency across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform/Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on ControlMonkey experience – REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience leading technical projects or initiatives.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive DevOps and cloud infrastructure projects from design through implementation.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Develop and manage Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for deployments.
• Implement and manage ControlMonkey to improve governance and drift detection.
• Shift away from manual "click-ops" through automation and GitOps workflows.
• Establish best practices around infrastructure automation and cloud governance.
• Mentor and develop the broader engineering team on DevOps practices.
