Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior DevOps/Cloud engineer to design, deploy, and maintain petabyte-scale data systems within an automotive ML infrastructure. You will support data collection, ML workloads, and scalable cloud resources across distributed teams.

The role emphasizes AWS-based cloud deployments, CI/CD automation, and robust debugging in complex distributed environments. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• BS in Computer Science or a combination of education and experience required.
• 4+ years of industry experience with cloud technologies and DevOps for complex systems.
• 5-7 years of professional DevOps and Cloud experience.
• Experience deploying, debugging, and managing cloud systems, especially AWS.
• Hands-on development with distributed computing languages and frameworks.

Job description

• Help design, develop, deploy, and maintain cutting-edge, petabyte-scale data systems
• Support DevOps efforts for data collection and machine learning infrastructure powering intelligent driving systems
• Update, deploy, and monitor team systems
• Improve system performance, reliability, and automation
• Support implementation through automotive development phases from research to deployment
• Analyze and support DevOps requirements from infrastructure developers and machine learning specialists
• Oversee daily use and provisioning of cloud resources
• Help build dynamic-scaling systems based on project needs
• Collaborate with local and international colleagues on global-scale infrastructure

Requirements

• Experience with Docker and AWS DevOps, including CloudFormation
• Broad experience deploying, debugging, and managing cloud systems, especially AWS
• Ability to build and maintain CI/CD systems for complex distributed applications using tools such as Jenkins
• Experience diagnosing and debugging applications in complex, distributed, heterogeneous computing environments
• Mastery of GIT
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence or similar collaboration tools
• 4+ years of industry experience with cloud technologies and DevOps functions for complex systems
• 5-7 years of professional DevOps and Cloud experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• BS in Computer Science or a combination of education and experience required
• Familiarity with AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodeCommit
• Hands-on development with distributed computing languages, frameworks, and libraries
• Experience with highly scalable and distributed databases and related performance and reliability issues
• Experience or understanding of developing machine/deep learning systems in a distributed environment
• Backend development experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring and Play
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to travel domestically in the U.S. and internationally to Canada and Europe/Germany, up to 10%
