Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced cloud infrastructure engineer to design, optimize, and automate complex cloud environments across AWS and Azure. You will implement IaC with Terraform and scripting with Ansible/PowerShell/Python, manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and ensure security and compliance across hybrid setups.

You will mentor teammates, develop reliable procedures, and collaborate with product and application teams to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions that support business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
• Experience in AWS and Azure environments.
• 5–7 years of systems administration, design, or related IT experience.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, deployment management and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Harness).
• Proficiency with IaC, especially Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
• Strong Linux/Windows Server administration, scripted/automated tasks.
• Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy knowledge.
• Understanding of virtualization: VMware ESXi, vCenter, VCAC, VDIs.
• Willingness for off-hours, on-call, and release windows.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in future.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, support and automate cloud infrastructure for business platforms.
• Carry out cloud designs in AWS and Azure, including on-premises and hybrid services.
• Support automated builds: provisioning, hardening, PaaS, load balancer rules and firewall policies.
• Own engineering efforts across multiple concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with business owners, product teams and application teams.
• Maintain installation/config procedures and drive automation.
• Provide cross-training and share team tool knowledge.
• Establish and support technical policies and procedures with management and peers.
• Provide accurate, up-to-date procedures to operational teams.
• Drive compliance and security for managed systems.
• Improve infrastructure service stability and availability.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Infrastructure Coordinators on progress and solutions.

Job description

• Design, optimize, support and automate cloud infrastructure supporting business platforms
• Formulate and carry out cloud infrastructure designs primarily in AWS and Azure, including ancillary, on-premises and hybrid services
• Support automated build activities including resource provisioning, hardening, PaaS offerings, load balancer rules and firewall policies
• Own engineering efforts, including solution design and optimization, across multiple concurrent projects
• Work with business owners, product teams and application teams
• Maintain installation and configuration procedures and drive automation
• Provide cross-training and mentoring and develop shared knowledge of team tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
• Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments
• 5–7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, deployment management and CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins and Harness
• Experience with multiple active scripting languages and strong IaC, especially Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server, including scripted/automated administration
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy
• Understanding of virtual environments, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, vCAC and VDIs
• Working knowledge of automation orchestration across lifecycle environments
• Understanding of configuration management and software deployment principles
• Willingness to work off-hours, including on-call schedules and project release windows
