Job summary

Ascensus in the United States is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership for DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud‑native engineering across multiple scrum teams.

You will establish standards, guide teams, and occasionally hands‑on solve complex problems while championing DevOps/DevSecOps culture to improve platform reliability and developer experience.

This role emphasizes scalability, security, and cost efficiency with Kubernetes-based platforms and IaC using Terraform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
• Experience designing DevOps architecture in enterprise-scale production environments.
• Strong experience with Agile/Scrum, CI, and CD.
• Hands-on Linux and Windows deployment and troubleshooting.
• Automation/scripting with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Excellent communication across teams.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform).
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Solid understanding of microservices, cloud-native architectures, networking, security, HA, and DR.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and guide technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural oversight for DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering across scrum teams.
• Partner with architects to align DevOps with business strategy.
• Define and evolve standards for build, deployment, and environment management.
• Design reusable references and templates for adoption across teams.
• Lead automated CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
• Embed security controls into pipelines (DevSecOps).
• Drive containerized/cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and incident response in production.
• Mentor engineers and promote automation and ownership.
• Ensure platforms meet standards for scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Guide service networking, API management, load balancing, and traffic management.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Mentor engineers in DevOps practices, tools, and architectural decisions.
• Promote automation, ownership, and continuous improvement in the org.
