Job summary

The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) in Las Vegas, Nevada, is recruiting a Psychological Developmental Counselor 2 to provide developmental assessments, counseling, and family support for children at risk for delays.

The counselor will conduct standardized evaluations, prepare reports, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to IDEA eligibility determinations and IFSP development, and help families access community resources.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, education, or closely related field.
  • Two years of post-Master's degree experience in standardized testing, counseling and intervention.
  • At least one year of experience performing developmental standardized testing with preschool and/or school-age children.

Responsibilities

  • Perform developmental evaluations, prepare reports, and provide counseling to families.
  • Participate in diagnostic team meetings and discuss results with health professionals.
  • Develop and monitor IFSPs, coordinate clinic and community services.
  • Counsel families on behavioral and coping strategies and connect to resources.
  • Document treatment activities and prepare information for insurance billing.
  • Provide consultation and training on child development and current policies.
