Job description

We are working with a fast-scaling developer of large-scale, mission-critical data center campuses is looking for a Senior Development Manager to take ownership of Predevelopment and Preconstruction activities across one or more active projects in its portfolio. This is a company operating at the intersection of technology, energy, and infrastructure - building the physical backbone for next-generation computing workloads at a pace few in the industry can match.

You'll be the connective tissue between design, finance, procurement, and construction. If you like being the person who turns a site from "concept" into "shovel-ready," this is built for you.

The culture:

entrepreneurial, transparent, and fast. Leadership includes serial entrepreneurs and seasoned executives; the board draws from energy, finance, and government. Decisions get debated on merit, not hierarchy.

What you'll own
  • Full preconstruction diligence for projects, constructability, site constraints, infrastructure alignment, with direct accountability for the outcome
  • Budgeting, cost modeling, and schedule development, working closely with Finance and Engineering
  • Procurement strategy for major equipment and long-lead materials
  • Construction sequencing and delivery-risk mitigation
  • Subcontractor prequalification and trade coverage strategy across local and strategic markets
  • Bid packages, scopes of work, and RFP documentation
  • Permitting coordination with internal and external engineering/design teams and local authorities
  • Technical input during sales pursuits, validating buildability, cost, and delivery risk before deals close
  • Direct reporting to senior leadership on project readiness and preconstruction risk
What you bring
  • 5–10 years in preconstruction, estimating, or project management on data center, industrial, or other mission-critical infrastructure. Ideally including at least one full project cycle owned start to finish
  • Real ownership experience across budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction readiness, not a supporting role, the accountable one
  • Strong grasp of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Comfort working directly with finance and sales teams to align capital planning with technical scope
  • Experience with subcontractor prequalification and trade engagement strategy
  • Fluency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, and estimating platforms
  • Sharp written and verbal communication, this role reports to senior leadership regularly
Why this role
  • Ground-floor ownership on some of the largest, most technically demanding infrastructure projects being built today
  • Direct line to senior leadership, your work and your voice carry weight
  • A team pulled from software, energy, engineering, investment banking, private equity, and consulting - the learning curve is steep by design

The position is in office 5 days a week, with travel to site as needed. Relocation candidates are welcome, and support will be provided.
