Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director for the Hampton Roads region. This home-office-based role travels locally to manage corporate sponsorships and individual donations for Heart Ball Gala and Go Red for Women events.

You will build partnerships, drive revenue, and lead volunteers in the campaign’s execution. You will work with fundraising staff to plan events and engagement activities, with base salary plus incentive up to 25% based on revenue targets.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% and some overnight trips; reliable transportation required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of sponsors and donors through research aligned with campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership and day-of-event volunteers.
• Coordinate event auction and lead volunteers to solicit items and packages.
• Lead membership growth for Cor Vitae giving society and plan engagement events.
• Plan events with internal and external partners and support campaign communications.
