Job summary

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis, MA is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, and a capital campaign. This senior role oversees donor stewardship, creates growth strategies, and partners with the Executive Director and Board.

Responsibilities include managing campaigns, building donor networks, and ensuring fundraising activities align with programming and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising experience, with leadership roles.
• Experience in capital campaigns and securing major gifts.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of Cape Cod philanthropic landscape is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for both annual and capital growth.
• Lead the Capital Campaign and manage gifts from major donors, boards, and sponsors.
• Provide leadership across development programs and collaborate with Marketing and Operations.
• Oversee donor stewardship, reporting, and data in Tessitura or similar systems.
• Plan and execute major fundraising events and donor receptions.
