Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County seeks a Development Director II to lead fundraising initiatives, including Annual Campaigns and major gifts, across South Bay and Border View centers. You will coordinate development activities, events, donor stewardship, and profile management, while supporting staff and volunteers to meet financial goals.

You will also partner with executive leadership to design strategies, manage budgets, and train board members for sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years' equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in special event management.
• 5+ years’ experience working with high-level volunteers and donors in fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to three or more branch campaigns and annual campaigns.
• Directly supervises staff and sets fundraising expectations across departments.
• Oversees donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gifts initiatives.
