Job summary

Yad Vashem USA Foundation is seeking a Director of Development, California to lead fundraising growth in Los Angeles and Southern California. The role involves building donor relationships, securing five- and six-figure gifts, and collaborating closely with the national office to scale regional philanthropy.

The successful candidate will think strategically and act hands-on, managing a regional portfolio, events, and volunteer leadership while traveling within California and to Israel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong track record of success in major gifts fundraising, including five- and six-figure solicitations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work with national staff and volunteers.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to independently manage a portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Grow YVUSA’s presence in Los Angeles and Southern California and expand the donor network.
• Build and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Create a dynamic regional fundraising program with events and donor gatherings.
• Develop volunteer leadership and establish a regional advisory committee.
• Represent YVUSA publicly, raising awareness in the LA and broader Southern California Jewish communities.
