The University of Hawai‘i Foundation in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Senior Development Associate at Kapi‘olani Community College to identify, engage and steward leadership annual and major gift donors.

Based at Kapi‘olani CC, the role involves building a 35-40 donor portfolio, cultivating gifts from $5,000–$10,000 with some $25,000+ gifts, and collaborating across UH Foundation to meet fundraising goals while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of progressive experience in non-profit settings, especially alumni or development.
• Experience developing major gift strategies and soliciting/closing gifts.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license or have reliable transportation; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of 35-40 leadership annual and major gift prospects.
• Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors with a focus on leadership gifts of $5,000–$10,000, including $25,000+ gifts.
• Collaborate with UH Foundation and UH colleagues to identify new prospects.
• Meet annual and campaign goals with visits, solicitations and gifts.
• Maintain monthly prospect clearance requests, schedules and reports; follow strategic plans.
• Develop understanding of unit focus and foster relationships with UH staff and leadership.
• Contribute as a positive team member of UH Foundation Development Team.
• Coordinate with constituents to align gift prospect strategies.
• Assist with additional development functions as needed.
