Job summary

University of Hawaiʻi Foundation, based at UH Mānoa, seeks a Senior Development Associate to identify, engage, solicit and steward donors for leadership annual gifts and major gifts supporting the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience. The role may require travel interisland or nationally and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of progressive experience in non-profit organizations, especially alumni, development, education, or membership settings.
• Experience and success in developing major gift strategies, soliciting and closing gifts.
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 35–40 leadership annual and major gift prospects.
• Identify, cultivate and solicit donors for leadership gifts of $5,000–$10,000 and some gifts $25,000+.
• Collaborate with UH Foundation and UH colleagues to identify prospects and cultivate alumni, parents and friends.
• Meet annual and campaign goals related to visits, solicitations and gifts raised.
• Participate in the Prospect Management Process with monthly schedules and reports.
• Develop understanding of unit focus and build relationships with UH leadership and UH Foundation staff.
• Coordinate with constituents to align gift prospect strategies and programs.
• Assist with additional development functions as assigned.
