Job summary

The University of Hawai‘i Foundation seeks an Associate Director of Development to identify, engage and solicit major and leadership gifts in support of UH System campuses. Based at Mānoa, the role requires travel interisland and nationwide, and may include weekends/evenings to meet fundraising goals.

You will manage a portfolio of 50-65 major gift prospects, collaborate across departments, and drive donor stewardship to foster lasting relationships that benefit UH and its students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two or more years of progressive experience in non-profit organizations, especially in alumni, development, education, or membership settings, is preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated success in developing major gift strategies, soliciting and closing gifts and developing recommendations for stimulating interest in the organization’s program is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license as well as pass a background check including driving record upon offer of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and actively manage a portfolio of 50-65 major gift prospects.
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors with a focus on major gifts of $25,000 and above.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify new prospects and cultivate alumni, parents and friends.
  • Meet annual and campaign goals related to visits, solicitations, and gifts raised.
  • Develop written strategies and adhere to scheduled prospect cultivation and closing activities.
  • Collaborate with UH Foundation and UH leadership to align fundraising efforts with programs.
