Job description

Join our American Amicable team today! This is a remote role!

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Developer (Assembler) with experience in Life Insurance to support our mainframe systems. Your responsibilities will include developing, testing, debugging, and supporting our legacy system, Life Comm, which manages the entire Life Insurance cycle. You will also collaborate with team members on design decisions, validate requirements, and provide technical support post-deployment.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in designing, programming, configuring, and integrating solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Support the existing legacy system, Life Comm.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of digital information.
  • Prepare development work for automated testing.
  • Perform tests to ensure quality and performance.
  • Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

Other Tasks:

  • Participate in design discussions and promote best practices.
  • Validate team requirements with the Product Owner and users.
  • Support and document the software solution after deployment.
  • Lead complex tasks and set standards in your technical area.

Qualifications:

  • At least ten years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Life Comm or similar Life Insurance packages.
  • Development skills in Assembler, VSAM, Batch JCL (VSE).
  • Experience with unit testing and TDD.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, under pressure, and adapt to change.
