Senior / Staff Software Engineer

Remote - Canada

Your opportunity

Our client is a well-funded, series A, growth-oriented scale-up. They develop and distribute an app-based and browser-accessed fintech platform with a wide range of capabilities targeting Canadian consumers and businesses. They are expanding their team by adding approximately 8 senior and staff engineers to accelerate their product roadmap, address technical debt, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance their InfoSec posture.

Their product offers a user-friendly experience and features that facilitate transactions between fiat and cryptocurrencies and between cryptocurrencies and everyday purchases. They have over 1.3M signups, six-figure monthly active users, and a healthy treasury supporting operations and growth.

The engineering team consists of 35 members, including 23 software engineers, organized into five domain-specific squads. The organization is maturing, with a focus on specialization and biannual performance reviews. The current tech stack includes:

• Backend: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Feathers.js, Sequelize
• Frontend: TypeScript, React/React Native, Vue.js
• Infrastructure: Docker, Github CI/CD, AWS EKS

Your know-how

• 5+ years of experience shipping production-grade, customer-facing software
• Expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience designing and implementing both backend and frontend systems
• Mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance
• Experience working in fast-paced, autonomous environments

It’s a bonus if

• You have built large-scale consumer-facing systems
• You are proficient in Bitcoin and Ethereum protocols, blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and cryptographic security
• You have experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Feathers.js, Sequelize, React/React Native, PostgreSQL, AWS
