Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transport Officer responsible for securely moving detainees and ensuring the safety and maintenance of transport vehicles. The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years of criminal justice or related experience, and a CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Candidates must pass background checks and DOT drug/alcohol testing, and be prepared for extended travel and overtime. The GEO Group, Inc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; state requisites where applicable.
• Minimum 3 years as Law Enforcement Officer with Arrest Authority, or 3 years in Prisoner Handling/Corrections/Military Police.
• 2 years driving experience in a transportation capacity.
• CDL license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Must pass DOT drug and alcohol test and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Transport detainees securely between destinations.
• Ensure vehicles are safe and properly maintained.
• Review vehicle inspection reports and summarize for management.
• Verify permits and licenses for vehicles are in order.
• Track DOT Hours of Service on ELDs.
• Participate in interviewing Transport Officers.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and PBNDS/FBNDS standards.
