Job summary

Linamar Corporation seeks a Senior Desktop and Systems Support Technician to monitor and troubleshoot complex control facility hardware and software, interfacing with vendor groups for outages or degraded performance.

The role requires extensive PC/LAN knowledge, multi-protocol networking, and experience with SQL Server back-end databases. You will develop and support n-tier applications and assist in deployment and testing across the facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM concepts.
• Experience with Windows Desktop OS Server Administration and Hyper-V.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd tier support to existing applications.
• Transfer existing applications to new technologies.
• Develop and analyze program designs for business needs.
• Create device-responsive front-end mockups using design tools.
• Collaborate with project managers to clarify system needs.
• Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure components.
