Job summary

Referment is seeking a Senior Desktop and Workplace Engineer for its New York office to act as the on-site escalation point for portfolio managers, analysts, traders and executives. You will own complex technology problems and drive rapid, business-critical resolution in a fast-moving hedge fund environment.

The role spans endpoints, identity, connectivity and productivity platforms, with hands-on troubleshooting, MSP oversight and automation using PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in desktop, workplace, or end-user engineering with Tier 3 escalation experience.
• Experience in hedge funds or demanding financial environments is valuable.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to coordinate with MSPs and internal teams under high urgency.
• Excellent communication with technical and business users.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior escalation point for the New York office.
• Provide expert support to portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and senior users.
• Resolve complex issues across endpoints, identity, connectivity and workplace tech.
• Oversee the MSP's day-to-day delivery and SLA.
• Lead incident response for highly complex, urgent, or business-critical events.
• Coordinate vendors and internal teams to permanent resolution.
• Develop automation with PowerShell and contribute to repeatable processes.
