Job summary

Oshkosh Defense seeks a Project Engineer – Design Team Lead to guide a subset of the design team, developing people and driving engineering initiatives. You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities with the Design Team and Chief Engineer, mentor engineers, manage workloads, and support delivery of projects on time while upholding engineering standards.

Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Five or more years of related experience.
Leadership experience in design teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of about 8-11 Designers and provide coaching and development.
Track team workload, schedules, priorities, and resource allocation.
Communicate objectives, priorities, expectations, and business goals to team members.
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of your team in coordination with the larger Design Team.
Support the Design Team’s Chief Engineer with budget, training, and related activities.
Collaborate with internal and external customers across segments and functions.
