Job summary

BNBuilders is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design phase management across multiple projects with a primary focus on mitigating design risk. This role will require strong coordination with design teams and cross-functional partners.

The position is based in Seattle, WA and requires a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, 15+ years of design experience, and proficiency with CADD, Revit, SketchUp, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Licensed Architect or Engineer preferred.
• LEED Accredited Professional (AP) preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in design and construction.
• Minimum 15 years of extensive experience working in all phases of design.
• Minimum 10 years of design phase management experience.
• Experience with Design/Build delivery required.
• Knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) desired.
• Proficient in CADD, Revit, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee design management efforts with the company.
• Lead and oversee design phase management efforts on multiple projects or a large, multi-phase project.
• Coordinate the efforts of Design Manager(s) and other team members as needed.
• Oversee design services from pursuits through completion of construction to mitigate design risk.
• Participate in design phase meetings as needed.
• Interface with the design team as needed.
• Oversee design document reviews for completeness and conformance with project requirements.
• Oversee peer reviews for special systems as necessary.
• Coordinate design with bid package preparation to support schedule and construction.
• Oversee contractual compliance reviews identifying deviations.
• Work with and lead companywide efforts to improve Design Management across all phases.
• Mentor and lead Design Managers and team members to grow professionally.
• Local and cross-regional travel is required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
