Job summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a Principal Design Manager to lead our Data Center design efforts. You will provide enterprise-level leadership for complex, high-risk programs, working across regional and global teams to govern design approaches, shape playbooks, and advise senior leaders on technical strategy.
The ideal candidate has deep critical-facility design expertise, strong executive presence, and the ability to travel up to 25%.
Qualifications
- Typically 15+ years of relevant experience in data center or mission-critical programs.
- Deep technical expertise in critical-facility design with multi-site governance.
- Executive presence with strong negotiation and judgment for senior audiences.
- Four-year degree in Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field; U.S. Citizenship; travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Provide Enterprise Design Leadership for major multi-site developments and programs.
- Govern frameworks, standards, and reference designs; translate market trends into scalable requirements.
- Advise executive leadership on design strategy, trade-offs, and long-term capability needs.
- Build organizational capability by partnering across Construction, Operations, Finance, and Security while mentoring practitioners.
