Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our North America Design team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end design execution on major data center developments, customer deployments, phased expansions, or complex operational upgrades.

Working within a dynamic team, you will lead multidisciplinary design delivery across the full project lifecycle, ensuring technical decisions align with safety, customer, program, resilience, and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of experience with substantial accountability for complex data center or mission-critical capital projects.
• Deep multidisciplinary understanding of critical-facility systems, codes/standards, permitting, and compliance.
• Strong commercial awareness to balance technical trade-offs against costs and mentor cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design execution from concept development through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate external consultants, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and security systems.
• Oversee design reporting, risk management, and value engineering while resolving technical, commercial, and program risks.
• Mentor Design Managers and elevate regional practices across internal divisions.
