Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Design Manager to lead and direct external design teams through all design phases on projects within its National Building Group. You will ensure design intent, constructability, cost control, and owner expectations are aligned from preconstruction through execution.

In this senior role, you will collaborate with architects, manage schedules, monitor budgets, mentor the design team, and travel nationwide to coordinate multi-location projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Estimating, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of related construction industry experience.
• Experience supporting industrial/cold-storage, mission critical, or other complex project portfolios preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs external design teams through all design phases.
• Leads coordination with architect teams to align design intent with constructability.
• Develops design schedules aligned with permitting, procurement, and construction phases.
• Mentors, manages, and evaluates the Design Phase Team.
