Job summary

ManpowerGroup Global Inc. in Owatonna, Minnesota, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead product design from concept through production.

You will develop customer and functional requirements, create SolidWorks models, perform FEA analyses, and drive manufacturability and cost-reduction initiatives in a 100% onsite role. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of design experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and a solid background in injection molding and die casting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of product design or product development engineering experience
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks
• Experience with engineering analysis and FEA tools
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to lead projects and work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development activities from concept through production launch
• Develop detailed customer, product, and functional requirements
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design validation activities
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize product performance
• Design components and assemblies for injection molding, die casting, and other manufacturing processes
• Conduct and participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments
• Develop prototypes and oversee prototype evaluations
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and cost-reduction initiatives
• Execute product testing, validation, and accelerated lifecycle testing
• Provide technical leadership for product improvements and customization efforts
• Support manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement projects
