Justrite Safety Group is seeking a Sr Design Engineer to lead mechanical design and documentation for fabricated sheet metal cabinet products. You will manage 3D CAD models, maintain BOMs, and drive design-for-manufacture across fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Regulatory to enable new product development and sustaining engineering for the Safety Cabinet line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 6+ years of product design experience in manufactured goods; metal fabrication preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawings; GD&T knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop fabricated sheet metal cabinet products and assemblies from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications; ensure accuracy and configuration control.
• Drive design-for-manufacture (DFM) improvements across sheet metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly processes.
• Lead engineering change activities (ECR/ECO) to implement product improvements and cost reductions.
• Support compliance and certification requirements for safety cabinets; coordinate test plans and documentation.
• Conduct engineering analyses: tolerance stack-ups, fit/function, structural considerations, latch/door performance, ventilation integration, durability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop fixtures and standard work for production.
• Qualify components/materials; support should-cost and alternate sourcing.
• Investigate field and internal issues using root cause analysis; implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Contribute to technical support for Sales/Customer Service on product applications.
