Job summary

Institutional Casework, Inc. in Union City, TN, is seeking a Design Engineer for our Metal Division. You will analyze customer drawings, prepare BOMs for manufacturing, and collaborate with engineering and procurement to schedule projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred), sheet metal fabrication knowledge, and MRPP understanding. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you manage projects from design to assembly.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
3D modeling experience; SolidWorks preferred.
Sheet metal experience (punching, laser, forming, welding).
MRP experience (item master, bill of materials).
Experience with sheet metal laboratory casework is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (phone, written, verbal).
Strong analytical, organizational, inter-personal, and detail-oriented skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret customer drawings to prepare BOMs for project release to manufacturing.
Read customer order entry system (WinCAT) to prepare BOMs for project release to manufacturing.
Work with engineering manager or coordinator to schedule projects.
Create and modify SW models to create products for drawings or WinCAT.
Engage with manufacturing to design error-free parts and understand parts flow.
Coordinate with engineers overseas, including scheduling and reviewing their work.
Manage projects from design, through manufacturing, to assembly.
