Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for a hybrid role at our Greenwood/Hodges, SC facility. You will develop best-in-class busway products through design, validation, deployment, and maintenance, providing technical expertise and leading growth projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical or electrical engineering, 3+ years of design/manufacturing experience, and willingness to travel up to 25%. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three (3) years of engineering or technical experience in design and/or manufacturing.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25%, domestically.
• Must be willing to relocate to Greenwood/Hodges SC. Relocation assistance will be provided, if needed.
• Eaton will not sponsor employment immigration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into measurable performance criteria and develop technical communications.
• Design, CAD 3D model and test product prototypes; perform DfM&A, GD&T & tolerance analysis.
• Maintain drawings, product structure, and design standards.
• Improve existing products through design and competitive analysis.
• Engineering change management for existing products via ENOVIA PLM.
• Apply DFMEA and problem‑solving tools; develop test plans and coordinate certifications.
• Lead product performance tests including thermal, short‑circuit, and mechanical integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to design processes meeting market needs.
• Provide technical guidance to production and cross‑functional teams.
• Identify tech upgrades and cost reduction opportunities to stay competitive.
