Goken America in Foster City, CA, is seeking an engineer to support engineering design and development activities, focusing on seating and structural components. The role involves designing with Catia, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet program goals.

Responsibilities include cost analysis, BOM creation, supplier negotiations, and applying DFM principles to reduce parts cost while maintaining quality.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience designing seats, structural or plastics components, and mechanisms.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3D models and 2D drawings is required.
• Experience in the automotive domain designing seats, related structural components, and trims is required.
• Proven experience engaging with cross-functional teams, with strong skills in layout negotiation and consensus building.
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, and conducting layout reviews and 2D drawing creation.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specifications and BOMs.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and/or processes.
• Identify new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
