Job summary

Goken America in Foster City, CA, is seeking an engineer to support engineering design and development activities, focusing on seating and structural components. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience designing seats, structural or plastics components, and mechanisms.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3D models and 2D drawings is required.
• Experience in the automotive domain designing seats, related structural components, and trims is required.
• Proven experience engaging with cross-functional teams, with strong skills in layout negotiation and consensus building.
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specifications and BOMs.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and/or processes.
• Identify new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
• Travel to client sites as required.

• Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3D models and 2D drawings is required.
• Experience in the automotive domain designing seats, related structural components, and trims is required.
• Proven experience engaging with cross-functional teams, with strong skills in layout negotiation and consensus building.
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.

California Pay Range: $55 USD - $60 USD
