Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager in Northbrook, IL to lead end-to-end project delivery for ground-up developments. The role demands coordinating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning with strong leadership and cost-control focus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction project management or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• Proven experience in project management and construction management
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Strong knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting principles
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in project management software tools and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all stages of project life cycle management including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
• Negotiating contracts with architects, vendors, contractors and other workers
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
• Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards
• Directing and supervising construction workers and subcontractors
• Implementing cost control measures to keep projects within budget
• Resolving contract disputes and design problems during construction
• Leading and managing project teams to ensure performance and productivity
• Preparing and presenting project updates to clients and senior management
