Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in the Chicago/NW Indiana region to support high-profile commercial and industrial projects. The role covers scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and project administration to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a construction management background, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work across design-build teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or related field, or equivalent construction industry experience.
• 2+ years in a construction project role (assistant PM, coordinator, or similar).
• Familiarity with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera) and cost-control systems.
• Strong organization, communication, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with construction management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate subcontractor bidding, scopes of work, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
• Track actual costs vs. budget and support change order processing.
• Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, logs, and photos.
• Support Project Manager to ensure quality, safety, and contract compliance.
• Assist in client communications and maintain professional relationships.
