Job summary

Harvard Business School seeks a senior Design Manager to lead capital, Improvements & Alterations projects and stand up a BIM program for facilities data. You will manage design from study to DD, align with standards, and supervise consultants while coordinating with cross‑functional teams on spaces and interiors.

You will build institutional knowledge, drive governance, and integrate BIM with CAFM systems, delivering authoritative project records and ongoing space analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, or related discipline is required.
• 5+ years of planning and design oversight experience; higher education setting preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM concepts and managing outsourced BIM resources.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and understand building systems.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project‑level design management from study through DD phases.
• Lead BIM program stand‑up, data standards, and governance.
• Contract and vendor management for design consultants.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure design standards and space data accuracy.
• Prepare reports and presentations on BIM status and project design metrics.
