Job summary

Harvard Business School is seeking a senior design manager to lead capital and I&A projects from study through design development. The role also stands up and governs a BIM program for facilities and space data, partnering closely with the Senior Director and planning teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating with architects, managing consultants, and ensuring standards compliance. A hybrid on-site role at our Boston campus is offered with regular on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Planning, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years in a planning and design oversight role; higher education setting preferred.
• Familiar with BIM concepts and workflows; ability to direct outsourced BIM resources.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Experience with CAFM or space data systems; MRI CenterStone a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-level design management from study through DD phases.
• Develop and enforce campus design standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with campus departments on space requests and tests.
• Manage vendors, consultants, and interns; ensure on-time delivery.
• Build BIM governance, data standards, and information architecture.
• Oversee data integration with CAFM systems and project closeout docs.
• Collaborate with furniture/ interiors and external consultants.
