Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution, located in the Office of Planning, Design and Construction (OPDC) in Washington, DC, seeks a leader for planning, budgeting, and oversight of major Design and Construction programs. The role emphasizes governance, policy development, and coordination of architects and engineers across a portfolio of projects with high public impact.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Service.
Experience planning, programming, budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and execution of multiple concurrent Design and Construction projects.
Experience developing and implementing Design and Construction program policies, governance frameworks, and management controls.
Experience leading professional staff of Architects and Engineers and advising senior leadership on programmatic, financial, and organizational matters.
Experience managing a capital improvement program or portfolio with an annual value of approximately $175 million or greater.

Responsibilities

Plan, program, budget, forecast, and execute multiple concurrent Design and Construction projects across Smithsonian facilities.
Advise senior leadership on programmatic, financial, and organizational matters related to the capital improvement program.
