Job summary

Ripple in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Derivative Accountant to own the technical accounting lifecycle for derivative instruments across multiple client portfolios, handling ASC 815 and IFRS 9, documentation, testing, journal entries and disclosures.

You will partner with treasury and finance stakeholders, lead audit interactions, and contribute to enhancing templates and guidance while translating new FASB/IASB guidance into clear client insights.

Qualifications

• CPA preferred; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with derivative instruments and hedge accounting.
• Deep fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9 hedge accounting principles.
• Experience with fair value measurement ASC 820 / IFRS 13.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements with tight deadlines.
• Strong communication for non-technical audiences.
• Experience with hedge accounting platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end derivative accounting for rates, FX, and commodities across client portfolios.
• Prepare and review hedge documentation, designation memos, risk objectives, and testing.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments (various methods).
• Prepare journal entries and disclosures related to hedging activities.
• Provide guidance on hedge accounting elections and designations.
• Translate new FASB/IASB guidance into client-impact summaries.
• Lead audit support and liaise with external auditors.
• Improve internal methodologies and technical guidance.
